A December Reminder: Value the People Beside You.
Note from Jamie
Hello,
I hope your fall is going well. I have always loved the month of December and the great sense of family and community that comes with it. This can be such a busy time of year on so many levels. In the nonprofit sector we have a very heavy focus on late November and December giving, events, activities and donor cultivation work. With all the busy-ness, we can spread ourselves thin relationally. Even in the midst of relational activity, it can be easy to overlook spending time with our closest staff and volunteers.
My hope for you this December is that you can take time to experience those around you, the relationships that matter most, both personally and professionally, especially with staff members on your team. Take time to affirm them, share with them their impact and value as a team member. We know we need to share this message with donors and our board, but we also need to share it with our staff. I think even more importantly, if we can take time to invest in those important relationships this month, we'll find the encouragement we share to be contagious.
May God richly bless your Holiday season.
Warmly,
Jamie
