True Meaning of Philanthropy
Hi Everyone,
Welcome to October. While I love summer I would say fall is my second favorite time of the year. I love the all colors but I am slow to let go of summer. As part of the fall excitement, though I wanted to share an exciting launch of a program that has been in the works for many years in concept. One of our longtime clients and partners, The Havens Foundation, recently launched a unique curriculum and children's book aimed at teaching the true meaning of philanthropy – love of people. The root definition of the word philanthropy is, philein-meaning to love and anthropos-meaning humankind. Moving beyond the common view of philanthropy as merely giving large sums of money, this initiative emphasizes its true essence: love for humanity.
At the heart of this initiative is a delightful children's book and an innovative curriculum featuring Phil, a lovable giraffe who embarks on meaningful adventures with his friends. Through their journey, young readers discover that making a positive impact in their community is achievable, regardless of age. The book and curriculum explore essential values like kindness, compassion, empathy, purpose, passion, respect, gratitude, and service.
The curriculum is available at no cost to youth-serving organizations, classrooms, and faith-based programs. If offers a wealth of resources, including step-by-step teaching instructions, engaging whiteboard animations, videos, activity sheets, and all necessary supplies.
Join Phil and his friends on an adventure to learn:
WHAT is Philanthropy?
WHO is a Philanthropist?
HOW YOU can make a difference in your community
WHY is philanthropy important?

I hope you find their new program of great value no matter where you are located.
Have a great October!
